MK2 David Payne: Rock Star, Engineer, Bad A@#
The MK Shop | Mar 16, 2010 | Comments Comments
Earlier last week I was contacted by MK2 Joshua Mahurin who wanted to share the following information about a fellow Coastie:
MK Going Rock Star
Machinery Technician by day, inspiring Rock Star by night. MK2 David V. Payne lives two
separate lives day after day. During the work day you can see David doing tasks such as
changing out an engine to conducting security boardings as a Boarding Officer. By night
you can see David playing for a local Louisville Hard Rock Band. David formed the band
Trust Divided early 2009 after reporting to Sector Ohio Valley. Having a drive and
passion for music, Trust Divided is dedicated to original material only and are spiritually
influenced in the light of today’s Hard Rock genre. Their goal is not only to make a
career in music but to reach out to all ages with an original and positive Hard Rock
sound. Their accomplishments thus far include opening up for national acts such as
Interscope artist, Rev Theory who is currently on tour with Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Veer
Union who is currently on tour with Hinder and Cold/Non-Point shows locally. On the
other hand David is standing strong as a competent MK and most importantly the Coast
Guard Core values. David is what most people call a well rounded MK. He went from
bootcamp to the Reliance and from there to Station Gulfport MS where he survived
Hurricanes Katrina and Gustav, and now is at Sector Ohio Valley. MK2 Payne is a great
representation for the MK rate and a role model to junior MK’s. MK’s like David just
shows us that the MK rate is still dominate and continuing to keep the Coast Guard up
and running. Like MKCM Rocco always says “5,486 STRONG, and Ready to answer all
Bells!”
I’m usually a pretty picky person when it comes to rock music. I tend to hate everything that people consider “rock” these days, but this music is pretty good. If you want to find out more, you can check out their Facebook Page or their Myspace Page, or you can check out a video below. You can also head over to this site to download MP3’s of the bands music free of charge. Congrats to MK2, I look forward to hearing some more from this band.
If any of you want to share anything that involves members of the MK community, please let me know. Remember, this is a site for all of us, not just me to post random crap I think of.
