New Pics: Casualties and Creativity

Good day all. Today we have two sets of pictures from two separate MK’s. 10 pictures total, all pretty cool stuff. The first set is from a fellow engineer who passed along the following information:

Here are a few pics of an engine casualty we had a while back. We spun a couple of main bearings (which then fried and melted to the crank and rods) and broke the oil pump. One of the pistons overheated and caused the liner o-rings to fail, which then flooded the crankcase with coolant.

The second set comes from MK3 Kyle Montgomery, who shows of some of the MK lack of money creativity in both repairs and amusement. From MK3:

Here are some pictures of some MK fun we have had here at Station Grand Haven MI. And also some projects that we just became a little creative on and improvised for a temporary fix!

You can see these photos and tons more over on the Flickr page or on the slideshow here on the pictures page. Thanks to both of them for sending these in. If you have any pics that are MK related, email them to me and I will put them up on the site. Just send them to themkshop@gmail.com.
